Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about Find Nearby, coverage, privacy, free categories and Pro.
- What does Find Nearby do?
Find Nearby helps people find everyday places and essentials such as toilets, parking, benches, playparks, drinking water, defibrillators, GPs, hospitals, post boxes, recycling centres and more. - Can I use Find Nearby as a toilet finder?
Yes. Find Nearby can help you search for nearby toilets, including accessible toilets and baby-changing toilets where mapped data is available. - Can I find accessible or Blue Badge parking near me?
Yes. Find Nearby includes accessible parking searches where mapped data is available. This includes Blue Badge-style parking data where it is available in the public map data, and accessible parking is one of the key searches that is fully free with no ads. - Can I find playparks and benches nearby?
Yes. Find Nearby includes playparks and benches, making it useful for families, walks, days out, town centres and unfamiliar places. - Is Find Nearby free?
Yes. The app is free to download. Some categories and features use credits, which can be earned by watching rewarded ads. Find Nearby Pro is optional and removes ads and credits. - Which categories are fully free with no ads?
Drinking water, accessible toilets, accessible parking, baby-changing toilets, parent & child parking, defibrillators, hospitals and GPs / doctors. - Do I need an account?
No. You can start using Find Nearby without creating an account. - Can I search without sharing my location?
Yes. You can type a town, postcode or place name instead of using your current GPS location. - Does the app work outside the UK and Ireland?
Yes. Find Nearby is set up to support worldwide searches using public map data where available. The fastest and most complete coverage is currently the UK and Ireland, where Find Nearby has 1.16 million+ mapped locations across 27 categories. Results outside the UK and Ireland may be slower and less complete. - Are all results guaranteed to be correct?
No. The app uses mapped and third-party data, so locations, opening hours, accessibility details and availability can be incomplete or out of date. Always check important information before relying on it. - How can I help improve missing or incorrect map information?
Find Nearby uses public map data including OpenStreetMap. If you know a place is missing, closed, in the wrong position or missing useful details, you can create a free OpenStreetMap account to edit the map directly, or leave an OpenStreetMap Note for volunteer mappers to review. See the map updates page for simple options. - What does Find Nearby Pro include?
Pro removes ads, unlocks all features and removes the need for credits. Monthly and yearly subscription options are available inside the app. - How do I contact support?
